Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in this part of the island of Montreal known as"the West Island. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of diverse communities. People who have never heard of it often mistake it for a separate island facing west. The West Island is frequently referred to as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was short. Brugel grew to be a woman of a certain age living in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. She aspired to be a professional dancer but due to an explosive growth spurt she outgrew all of her dancing partners. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was six feet and one inch tall. As I grew older than my male friends, I quit. Former dancers often turn into acting. In the instance of Brugel,, it was a suggestion by her teacher of drama. She was recommended by a teacher getting a part in the school's annual play. She was the teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the school's annual show. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Brugel's career spans over twenty years, and she's performed in more than 60 shows, both on big screens and on smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was as Rita (pictured below) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of moments in the very first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian participant.
