Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13th October 1980. She is an American singer as well as songwriter. Ashanti gained fame as a teenager. In 2002, she signed with Murder Inc. Records. The same year, she was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's track, Always On Time and Fat Joe's What's Luv? She became the first female artist to have the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and Luv? at number two. Luv? The song What's Luv! Let's celebrate the special occasion with us. Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, popularly referred to as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on October 13 1980. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti, and Ken Kaide Douglas serves as the her father. Kenashia Schia Douglas is her younger sister, is older. Douglas named her Ashanti to honor Ghana's Ashanti Empire in which women were in charge and held an influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to follow this paradigm. James's grandfather was a part of Martin Luther King Jr. as a civil right activist in the 1960s. Ashanti's mother discovered her daughter's talents as she listened to her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti was an extra for a child on Spike Lee's Malcolm X (released in 1992) as well as Ted Demme's Who's the Man? In addition, she appeared in a few music videos, including 8-Off Ghettogirl as well as K.R.S. Act One MC's You Don't Know. The career of Ashanti as a musician was hindered by her inability to achieve success after being approached by major labels like Bad Boy and Jive. Hey Baby, After the Club (released via the radio and on digital) dropped on the 16th of October, 2008. She has acted in the films Christmas in the City as and Army Wives. Her track Rock wit U was sampled by British singer Aitch to record his song Baby on March 10 2022.
